DermaClip Extreme Large 3 Clip (21mm, 3" / pkg)

SKU:61005

DermaClip Extreme is designed for austere environments and tactical medicineand high-stress clinical applications where standard adhesives are insufficient.

The 3.5x stronger adhesive and polyurethane backing maintain closure through moisture, sweat, and high-activity conditions - making it the preferred choice for prolonged field care, combat casualty management, and austere environment medicine.

Field Adopted

Selected for the MARSOC combat corpsman assault pack and adopted across Marine Corps field medical units. Built for prolonged field care where standard closure methods fail.

Built for Prolonged Field Care

No Anesthesia Required Eliminates lidocaine dependency - critical in austere environments where injectable anesthetics may be unavailable or tactically impractical.
Consistent Wound Edge Eversion The patented design automatically achieves the clinical gold standard of wound edge eversion on every closure - in any environment, by any trained provider.
Up to 6x Faster Than Suturing Reduces average procedure time from 41 minutes to approximately 6 minutes (83% faster). Saves an average of 35 minutes per case in high-volume settings.1
Closes Wounds That Continue to Ooze Unlike tissue adhesives, DermaClip Extreme holds in the presence of moisture and wound exudate - a critical advantage in field trauma management.
No Needles. No Sharps. Eliminates needle-stick risk in the field and reduces the sharps burden in forward surgical and ship medical environments.
Any Trained Provider Can Apply No suturing skill required. Applicable by medics, corpsmen, and combat lifesavers - freeing surgeons and physicians for complex casualties.

The Extreme Adhesive Difference

DermaClip Extreme uses a purpose-engineered adhesive formulation that outperforms the standard DermaClip adhesive in demanding environments.

3.5x Stronger Adhesive The Extreme adhesive delivers 3.5 times the tack of the standard DermaClip formulation - engineered for high-activity patients and physically demanding environments where standard closure may fail.
Polyurethane-Backed Tape The polyurethane tape backing provides enhanced water resistance - maintaining adhesion through sweat, moisture, and field conditions that would compromise standard adhesive closures.
5-Year Shelf Life Extended shelf life vs. 3 years for standard adhesive - engineered for long-duration stockpiling in military medical kits, forward operating bases, and ship medical bays.
Not for Fragile Skin The Extreme adhesive strength is optimized for healthy, intact skin in field environments. For elderly, pediatric, or fragile skin patients, use DermaClip Regular or Large with standard adhesive.

Simple Application. Built for the Field.

DermaClip Extreme applies in seconds with no anesthesia, no needles, and no specialized suturing skill - designed for use under austere conditions by any trained medic or corpsman.

1
Place Position the adhesive pads so the inner edges align flush with the wound margins. When using multiple clips, place them as close together as possible without touching - ideally 1 to 4mm apart.
2
Press Firmly massage the adhesive pads into the skin using consistent hand pressure. This activates the pressure-sensitive adhesive - this step is critical for secure, lasting closure in field conditions.
3
Pull Pull the tabs closed to approximate the wound edges and engage the closure mechanism.
4
Lock The device clicks into place, securing closure and creating visible wound edge eversion. Total application time: under 2 minutes.

DermaClip Extreme vs. Field Closure Alternatives

Method Speed Tissue Trauma Field Viability Ease of Use
Sutures Slow High (punctures) Requires skill + light Highly skilled
Staples Fast High Bulky equipment Moderate
Tissue Adhesives Fast Low Fails when wet/oozing Easy
Steri-Strips Fast Low Fails under tension Easy
DermaClip Extreme Fast No punctures Designed for field use Mastered in minutes

Designed for Military, Tactical, and High-Demand Environments

DermaClip Extreme is optimized for healthy skin in physically demanding conditions. It is not indicated for fragile, elderly, or pediatric skin - use DermaClip Regular or Large for those patients.

  • Prolonged field care - forward operating environments where definitive care is hours away
  • Combat lacerations requiring rapid, reliable closure under austere conditions
  • Ship medical bays - naval environments where moisture resistance is essential
  • TCCC and TECC protocols requiring fast, needle-free wound management
  • High-activity patients where standard adhesive closure may fail prematurely
  • Medical kit standardization - 5-year shelf life supports long-duration stockpiling
